France which is almost entirely reliant on nuclear energy has seen an incredible rise in cancer rates.
New cases of cancer in 1980 were 170 000.
New cases of cancer in 2005 were 320 000.
Only 1/4 of these can be explained by population
growth. Thyroid cancer which is relatively rare and
can be used as a marker for cancer caused by
radioactivity is up significantly over there.
